Is this compressor worth it, if no what do you reccomend?
If your going to be using a Paasche VLS, You'll probably be running it between 35 and 45 psi. If this thing only maxes out at 55 psi, it will probably cause you problems. What will most likely happen is, as you're spraying, the pressure in the tank will begin to drop. The motor probably won't kick back on until the tank pressure has dropped below your desired working pressure. This will cause your gun to start acting weird, and in turn cause you to do a bad job.
I've never been a fan of these "made specifically for airbrush" compressors. They're junk. They're basically just there to rip off the newbie who doesn't know any better. You can get yourself a good shop compressor with a large tank (the bigger the better) for the same price at Harbor Freight. I've had their 21 gallon in my home studio for a few years now with no problems, and I use it almost daily. The 21 gallon usually sells for about $200 but they put it on sale for $150 all the time. Here are a few links to help get you started in the wonderful world of Airbrush.
http://www.harborfreight.com/ Compressors and all the fittings you need. There's a store locator on their site. I'm sure they have a store near you. They're everywhere
http://www.tcpglobal.com/airbrushdepot/ Great company. I deal with them all the time. If its airbrush, they got it.

Alright! Enough babbling. Get yourself a real compressor and start having fun. If you have any other airbrush questions (and I'm sure you will) feel free to email me through YA. I'm more than happy to help.
Oh Crap! I just realized that you're in Australia. They probably don't have Harbor Freight there. Sorry man. Just go to your local hardware store and pick up a shop compressor. Trust me. Those little airbrush compressors aren't worth it.
